In another busy week, the Okaw Valley baseball team played four games in five days.
The Timberwolves defeated Arcola and Argenta-Oreana but lost to Decatur Lutheran and Paris.
Monday evening at Argenta-Oreana, OV needed an extra inning to plate the eventual winning run in an 8-inning pitcher’s duel.
In the top of the eighth inning, freshman Cale Roley singled in the winning run, and Dalton McGill pitched a 5-hit complete-game shutout and struck out 10 batters for the win.
McGill and Eli Hagerman each recorded a hit.
Saturday against Paris, OV could not overcome a Tiger 5-run fourth inning and eventually lost 7-3.     Login or Subscribe to read the rest of this story.
