The lobby has a new floor; in the process of taking up the old floor, asbestos abatement was done before new tile was laid. The walls have a new coat of paint, and there is now LED lighting, new ceiling tile and a more efficient heating system. The ladies’ restroom in the lobby area also had a full demo that included new flooring, toilets, sink, dividers and paint, and it is now handicapped accessible.
A full demo was done on the locker rooms. They now have a new floor, ceiling tile, lights and paint. The gym has a refinished floor, new paint, new bleachers, upgraded scoreboard, and by Spring 2024 will have air conditioning which has been delayed due to part delays. The old gym will also have air conditioning which has been delayed until next spring.
The library has new carpeting, paint and new furniture including bookshelves.
According to Erik Van Hoveln, Windsor Superintendent, the renovations estimated cost is $1.7 million. Of that, a half million is in tuckpointing and another half million in electrical upgrades. Van Hoveln went on to say that the board used reserves to pay for it, and there is no debt from it. “The renovations assist in assuring a quality building for the future,” he noted.
