Despite wet and cold weather conditions, the Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg softball team no hit Farina South Central in a blow out Monday and squeaked by Meridian Friday to win its fifth straight game to start the season.
Against Farina South Central at Windsor, Calla Roney pitched a no hitter to shutout South Central, while the Hatches’ offense pounded out 12 hits.
WSS jumped out early with two runs in the first inning and one run in the second inning for a 3-0 lead.
The Hatchets tacked on another run in the fourth inning, but it was the six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning that ended the game with a 10-0 victory.
Roney finished with three hits and an RBI at the plate, and on the mound, she pitched all five innings and struck out 12.
