The SOV Redskins continued their winning momentum from week one with their first road win of the season. The team traveled to Arcola to face the struggling Purple Riders. At the end of the game, Sullivan’s offense eclipsed 600 total yards as they proved to be an equal threat on the ground and in the air. “Our run game and pass game were working well for us, and we were able to vary our formations and spread the ball around to different guys that can all be playmakers, which is something we hope we can keep doing this season to keep defenses from being able to lock in on just one or two guys.” The final score was 49-14.

Citizens who are not registered to vote and cannot leave their home, Nursing Home, or Assisted Living Facility because of a permanent physical disability can arrange for voter registration and voting by contacting the Moultrie County Clerk’s office.

Church to hold Fall Rally

The First Baptist Church of Sullivan will hold its Fall Rally on Saturday, September 14 at the church. Hosted by the Women on a Mission and the Arthur Women’s Group, the event is free and open to the public.

The program will begin at 9:00 with a free breakfast followed by a program in the Sanctuary. The speaker will be Tracey Stedman from International Ministries and she will talk of her experience as a missionary and the work of International Ministries.

  A free luncheon will be held at noon in the Fellowship Hall and the Rally will conclude at 2:00. The public is cordially invited to attend to learn about missionary service, Women on a Mission and the Great River Region special projects.
