•April 10, 2024•

It comes as no surprise that more than one player from the SOV squad has committed to playing at the next level. Three signed last week.

Aiden Ballinger and Kyle Corkill both signed with Millikin University. Ballinger led the team in reception yards per game with 99.5. The two would go back-to-back in receiving touchdowns with Ballinger hauling in six and Corkill five. Corkill would add another touchdown with a kickoff return in the final game of the season.

(sitting L-R): Scott, Easton, and Jennifer England. (Standing): Sage England.

Easton England signed his commitment letter Friday. The senior kicker will be traveling north to Appleton, WI to continue his studies and kick for the Lawrence University Vikings. England taught himself to kick between his junior and senior years in order to play his first season ever of football. The lefty kicker was successful in 27 of his attempts.

Sullivan softball was slated for a busy schedule last week. The weather had other ideas though as the first three games of the week were called off. The girls were able to get in a Friday game at home before taking to the road the following day.

With somewhat clear skies on Friday, Sullivan welcomed the Wooden Shoes of Teutopolis. Harmony Ray, Emerson Riley, and Taylar Mercer were the only Sullivan batters to get hits during the game. Teutopolis pitcher Alyssa Tipton gave up those three hits as she would go on to throw the complete game giving up zero runs and striking out eight Sullivan batters. Read More
