The Bethany town wide rummage sales will be May 20 and 21. Interested participants can register at Casey’s, Village Hall and Marrowbone Public Library. Participants need to register by May 6 to be published in the Moultrie County News Progress on May 18.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022, at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home in Sullivan. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery, Sullivan. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
Roger was born July 20, 1948, in Decatur; the son of Ray and Wilma M. (Crane) Wilhelm. He graduated from Sullivan High School in the Class of 1966 and then went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Illinois University. Roger was a retired truck driver. He attended the Zion Hill United Methodist Church, Mattoon. Roger enjoyed going to family gatherings.
He is survived by brother, Brad Crane Wilhelm of Redmon; sister, Cherryl (Gery) Conlin of Arthur. Roger is also survived by five nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Eileen was born August 10, 1933, in Sullivan; the daughter of Clurie and Violet (Lane) England. She married James E. Binion on October 29, 1949, in Sullivan; he survives. She was a retired Registered Nurse from St. Mary’s Hospital. Eileen enjoyed her family and flowers and she was an avid reader.
She is survived by her husband, James Binion of Sullivan; sons, Bruce (Peggy) Binion of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Royce (Sally) Binion of Wolcottville, IN; daughters, Joy (Ed) Voltenburg of Sullivan and Merry Woolsey of Henderson, KY. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Ramona Ingram and Delores Ryherd; and 2 children, Sharon and Terry Binion.

SHS Students Conduct Research
Students from Sullivan High School visited Booth Library on the campus of Eastern Illinois University on April 6. Students in the AP English Class were given a tour of the library, followed by research instruction. Librarian David Bell gave the tour and helped them research their individual topics. Sullivan High School Co-op Swimming of Sullivan, Shelbyville and Okaw Valley held the swim banquet Wednesday, April 13.
Senior Lilly Graham was named Captain and Most Improved for the girls. Junior, Madalyn Booker, earned the High Point award with her two second place podium finishes at Sectional.
Audrey Summers Junior and Freshman teammates Zoe Conlin and Linnea Graham were recognized.
Junior Ethan Schmohe was named Captain and earned the High Point Award.
Matthew Wesselman was awarded Most Improved and recognized for breaking the 500 freestyle record of 5:11.03.
Sophmore Isaac Chambers was recognized.
Windsor Students of the Month
Windsor Jr./Sr. High School recently announced their March Students of the Month Logan Corrie and Dylan Curry.
Logan Corrie is the son of Valerie and Kevin Corrie. He is currently a 7th grade student and is involved in Scholastic Bowl and Basketball. Logan enjoys playing video games in his spare time.
Dylan Curry is the son of Lori and JR Curry. He is currently a junior and is involved in Basketball, Baseball, Student Council, FFA, Spanish Club and History Club. He plans to attend Eastern Illinois University after he graduates high school.

Library Easter Egg Hunt

Third Graders Board the Titanic
Jennifer Hostetler’s third grade class at Lovington Grade School boarded the Titanic on Monday, April 11. Students were assigned the name of a person who was aboard the Titanic and could dress in character. Students were also separated out by the social classes when boarding the ship to determine their seat. All of their school subjects for the day had a Titanic focus.
