In the Wednesday, July 7 issue of the News Progress we listed the winners of the various competitions at Pack the Park which was held in Wyman Park on July 4. We reported the wrong winner of the Greased Pig contest. The winner was actually Ayden Matheson.

On Monday, July 26 at 2 pm there was a vehicle accident between a Freightliner box truck and a passenger car at Howy’s intersection. The box truck was westbound on Bruce Findlay Road and stopped at the intersection with Route 32. Then the truck proceeded into the intersection and a passenger car hit the back end of the box truck on the driver’s side of the vehicle. The driver of the passenger car was transported to Sarah Bush with minor injuries. The Moultrie County Sheriff’s Department and Sullivan Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene.

Douglas-Hart Nature Center will be at the Elizabeth Titus Memorial Library on Friday, August 6 at 10 am as part of their Summer Reading Program. The program is called Plant A Rainbow. There will be a small live animal and children will get to take home what they make. There is a limit of 35 children that will be allowed to participate in the program.
