SHS H.C. Parade Invite

Sullivan High School Homecoming Week is October 1-5 with the dance and coronation on October 6.
Area businesses, clubs and individuals are invited to participate in the 2018 Sullivan Homecoming Parade.
The Sullivan High School and Sullivan High School Student Council are inviting businesses/organizations to be a part of the 2018 Homecoming parade.
The parade is Friday, October 5th at 4:00 p.m. Line-up begina at 3:00 p.m. in the back parking lot of SHS on first come first serve basis.

SAL Annual Car Show Ahead

The Sullivan American Legion will hold their Annual Car Show on Sunday, October 21st.
Registration is from 10:00 a.m. – noon with awards presentation at 3:00 p.m..
Sons of American Legion will be grilling out and the club room will be open.

ALAH H.C. Week Action

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond High School homecoming week is Sept. 24-29 with the dance from 8-11 p.m. in the old gym. Coronation is at 9 p.m.
Monday is Monster U with students wearing college gear with hallway judging and king and queen voting during first hour.
Tangles Tuesday is crazy hair and clothes day with volleyball at Bement and soccer at Effingham St. Anthony.
Ohana Wednesday calls for Hawaiian clothes with Disney Day on Thursday giving students a chance to dress as their favorite Disney character. Powder Puff at Wilson Field is Thursday, and the bonfire and pep rally are set for 8:30 p.m.
Friday is Red,Gold, and Black day with parade line up at 1:45 p.m. The parade begins at 2:30 p.m., and the ALAH football game against Decatur LSA begins at 7 p.m.

Smyser CC Food Pantry

Smyser Christian Church of Gays Food Pantry is open the last Thursday of the month. The hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and appointments should be made before the last Monday of the month.

SAL Wine Trip

The Sullivan American Legion is hosting a Winery Bus Trip on Sunday, September 30th.
The bus will leave the Legion parking lot at 11:30 a.m. and return at approximately 7:00 p.m.
Visits tp Forsee Vineyard in Coffeen, Sheedy Shores Vineyard in Loami and Cooper Hawk in Springfield will be made.

Candidates Forum

Meet the candidates running in the Tuesday, November 6 election at the Candidates Forum at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20 in the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall in Sullivan.
Meet local, district and statewide candidates and learn Moultrie County candidates’ views. During the closed forum candidates are asked previously reviewed questions by a panel moderator.
The public is invited to attend the event, which is sponsored by Sullivan Chamber and Economic Development and the Moultrie County News Progress, free of charge.

Lovington Fire Dept. Breakfast

Lovington firemen are serving pancakes and sausage at the firehouse 6-9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29.
Donations will be accepted at the door. Everyone is invited to enjoy breakfast and thank those volunteering to protect the community.

SHS Juniors Offer Food

The Sullivan High School junior class is offering pulled pork sandwich, macaroni & cheese, drink and dessert at the football game on Friday, September 21.
Serving times are 5-6:30 p.m. Eat in or carry out. Tickets may be purchased in the high school office. Proceeds benefit SHS prom.

First Mid Cookout Time

The First Mid Bank and Trust of Sullivan annual customer appreciation cookout is from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 28th.
The northeast parking lot is open for free lunch of pork burgers, chips, cookie and a drink. While enjoying lunch on First Mid register for a chance to win a door prize.

Spring concert

On Tuesday, April 28th, under the direction of Dr. Ian Kinkley, Band Director, the Sullivan Band Program presented its symphonious Spring Band concert, titled “Evening Escapes,” which showcased the magnificent and diverse talents of the Sullivan 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands, combined with the Sullivan High School Band and Jazz Band.
