Trivia Night

Sullivan-Okaw Valley Football will host a Trivia Night Fundraiser on Saturday, June 1 at the Sullivan American Legion. Dinner will be served from 5:30-7 p.m. with trivia starting at 7 p.m. Dinner tickets for the AYCE Taco Bar are available at the SHS office, Moultrie County Treasurer’s office and Chip’s Marine. Trivia reservations may be made by contacting Stephanie Helmuth (217) 714-9028 or April Christensen-Stephens (217) 827-1726. The cost is $25 per person or $120 for a table of six. Sponsor tables are available for $330 and includes dinners and trivia for six and $120 worth of raffle tickets. During the evening there will also be raffles, 50/50, drawings and auctions.

Memorial Weekend Cruise In

The Sullivan Street Machine Association will host the Memorial Weekend Cruise In on Saturday, May 25 at 3 pm on the square in Sullivan. There will be a 50/50 drawing and dash plaques. Free summer meals

Sullivan Schools will be providing free meals to anyone 18 and under in our area. They plan to deliver door-to-door to anyone who would like to receive meals. This will occur one day per week with 5 days of meals per child. Meal delivery will begin the week of May 28 and run through August 9. Complete the form by 5pm on May 16 in order to allow for appropriate ordering of food and arrangement of delivery schedule. Everyone receiving meals will be contacted by May 28 to communicate your expected delivery date and time. They encourage all students to take advantage of this free program. LLC TRIO honors Clark

Lake Land College TRIO students were recently honored at an annual banquet. During the event, several students received awards. 

Among the awards was the Leadership Award, presented to Deanna Clark, Bethany for leading student involvement and serving as TRIO ambassador and also the TRIO Student of the Year Award.

Summer lunch program

Windsor CUSD1 has announced their 10th year of serving up free summer lunch and fun at Windsor Elementary School in Windsor. This year’s program starts on Tuesday, May 28th and runs through Friday, August 2nd. Serving time: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Friday.

WES offers an assortment of veggies, fruit, dairy and grains, along with the main items listed on the menu daily. Every meal includes a choice of milk or milk alternatives. Menu will be available on Windsor School Website and social media by May 17th. Menu is subject to change.

Hope House will be teaming up with them again this year to provide an line-up of Fun Summer activities.

All vehicle show

An all vehicle show will be held Sunday, August 18 on Main Street in Windsor. Hosted by Legion Post 725, registration will be from noon to 2:30 with awards being presented at 3. Genealogy Class

Sullivan High School student Claire Kursell recently participated in the Central Illinois High School Art Exhibition at Millikin University. She received an honorable mention for her piece, “Bride of Frankenstein”.
