Pre-K Camps

The SDS Preschool is offering pre-k childrens summer camps every Tuesday this summer, starting at 9am and running until 11:30. These camps will be hosted by Teacher Miss Jeannie Ruppert and held at the Sullivan Dance Studio. Campers and parents should expect engaging and fun activities, small class sizes and learning. The fee is $20 per camp. The Preschool mission states, “Providing a nurturing environment that promotes learning and development of the whole child, including spiritual, social, and academic”. The remaining camps for this summer are: 7/23- Rainbow Reading, 7/30- Sweet Shapes and 8/6- Super Science.

Mobile Food Pantry

Music Festival

The Sullivan First United Methodist Church will be hosting a family friendly music festival on July 20th at 216 West Jefferson in Sullivan. There will be live music, food and children’s actives offered during the festival. Food venders will be none other than Eddie’s Taco and Tropical Sno: Hawaiian Shaved Ice. The festival will run from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Community Blood Drive

Monarch Manufacturing Inc. will host a Community Blood Drive with ImpactLife, the provider of blood components for local hospitals. The blood drive will be from 12:00 to 3:30 pm on Monday, July 22 at 1157 State Hwy 32, inside ImpactLife Donor Bus. To donate, please contact Ashley Shrode at (217) 728 2552 or visit www.bloodcenter.org and use code 71346 to locate the drive. You may also call ImpactLife to schedule at 800-747-5401. Appointments are requested. Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required to donate. For questions about eligibility, please call ImpactLife at (800) 747 5401. Donors who last gave blood on or before 5/27/24 are eligible to give at this drive.

36th Annual Walleye Festival

Findlay is hosting the 36th Annual Walleye festival on July 26th and 27th starting on Friday at 5pm with non-stop events until midnight, where the beer tent will then close for the night. Saturday is the main event, hosting most of the family friendly fun. There will be a total of six live bands, a car show, beer tent, bags tourney, tractor pull, police meet and greet, local celebrity dunk tank, inflatables, face painting and much much more. Acting Grand Marshalls for this year is Jack Getz and Butch Wagner. The parade is open to everyone, professional floats or even just dog walking, Findlay welcomes and encourages all to join in on the parade. Parade lineup starts at 8:30am at OVMS and begins at 10am. Breast Cancer benefit

There will be a breast cancer benefit for Krissy Davis on Friday July 26th from 6 to 10pm at the Sullivan American Legion. There will be a raffle, silent auction, music, food, t-shirts and a bags tournament. Teams must register in advance by calling Sheri at (217)-254-3327. The bags tournaments is teams of two and is double elimination, the games will start at 4 pm.

Concert

Collage of Faith will be in concert on Saturday, July 13 at 6 pm at Allenville Christian Church, 201 Allen Street in Allenville. Following the concert there will be finger food fellowship. A love offering will be collected.

Sullivan Boy Scout Troop # 39 was at the ready with delicious food in Kirby’s parking lot for famished deal-seekers on Friday, June 5th, during Sullivan’s annual Townwide Rummage Sale. On the menu were brats, steak sandwiches, pork chops, chips, sides, and cool beverages.
