LLC TRIO honors Clark

Lake Land College TRIO students were recently honored at an annual banquet. During the event, several students received awards. 

Among the awards was the Leadership Award, presented to Deanna Clark, Bethany for leading student involvement and serving as TRIO ambassador and also the TRIO Student of the Year Award.

Summer lunch program

Windsor CUSD1 has announced their 10th year of serving up free summer lunch and fun at Windsor Elementary School in Windsor. This year’s program starts on Tuesday, May 28th and runs through Friday, August 2nd. Serving time: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Friday.

WES offers an assortment of veggies, fruit, dairy and grains, along with the main items listed on the menu daily. Every meal includes a choice of milk or milk alternatives. Menu will be available on Windsor School Website and social media by May 17th. Menu is subject to change.

Hope House will be teaming up with them again this year to provide an line-up of Fun Summer activities.

All vehicle show

An all vehicle show will be held Sunday, August 18 on Main Street in Windsor. Hosted by Legion Post 725, registration will be from noon to 2:30 with awards being presented at 3. Registration is $15 with all proceeds benefiting American Legion projects. For information call 217-962-9945 or 217-259-5333.

Genealogy Class

The third Genealogy Class will be held on May 14 at the History Center in Sullivan, 6:30-8 p.m. All are invited to attend, no matter what your level of research, beginners or experienced. Bingo

Bingo every Thursday at the Sullivan American Legion hosted by the Sullivan Singers Boosters. Doors open at 5 pm. Regular Bingo starts at 6:30 pm. Food and drinks available for purchase.

Monthly Quarter Madness

Moultrie County Monthly Quarter Madness will hold their May Quarter Auction on Wednesday, May 8. The event will be held at the Sullivan American Legion. The charity of the month is the Widows Sons. They are an international charitable organization who are freemasons who also enjoy riding motorcycles. This chapter is a 501c3 non-profit organization and covers most of Central Illinois. Most of their fundraising goes to individuals and families in the community, but they also donate to the Shriner’s Children’s Hospital and IMOS. Every penny they raise is spent on helping others.  

At the May Quarter Madness, vendors could include: Allie’s Gift and Garden, LLC; Scentsy, Hello Pink, Plunder Design, Titus Hog Farm, Tastefully Simple, Pampered Chef, Rodan & Fields, Thirty-One, and Avon plus different craft and food vendors with tumblers, t-shirts, wreaths, earrings, wind spinners, potholders, signs, garden stakes, décor, soy based candles and melties, freeze dried candies, and more. Bring your quarters for charity items and extra bidding. All-In-Paddle will be $20. Doors open at 6:00 and the Quarter Auction begins at 6:30. All ages are welcome to attend. Bubba’s Food Truck will be in the parking lot with food available for purchase. Drink purchases can be made through the Legion as well. New royalty to be crowned
The Moultrie-Douglas County Fair Pageant will be held Monday, July 27th at 6:00 p.m. for Little Miss Fair Queen and 7:00 p.m. for Miss and Junior Miss Fair Queen located at the south track on the Mo-Do Fairgrounds. Vying for the title of Miss Moultrie Douglas Fair Queen are: Abigail Meyer of Tuscola, Addee Mulligan of Arcola, Sarah Rogers of Atwood, Ava Whitson of Tuscola, Addisyn Wilson of Villa Grove, Emma Spillman of Tuscola, Aymara Leal of Arcola and Katilyn Kirby of Sullivan.
