The Little Theatre on the Square was installing a 20 ton air conditioning unit and heating system. The Little Theatre on the Square had received two separate grants of $18,970 from the Illinois Arts Council for operating support and a grant of $15,032 from the Tourism Attraction Program, a program of the Illinois Bureau of Tourism Dept of Commerce and Community Affairs to pay for the heat/air project.
The Sullivan Redskins traveled to Carterville for the first round of IHSA Class 2A playoffs. The Redskins fought back from a 17 point deficit, scoring 22 second half points for a 31-20 win and a trip to the second round.
After winning its first regional game Wednesday night, the Lovington High School volleyball team found some speed bumps on the road to the championship game. The Panthers defeated Windsor in the semi-finals of the Shelbyville Regionals and advanced to the championship game against Shelbyville. Read More

Moultrie County Clerk Georgia England is urging voters to apply as soon as possible if they want to cast their ballots by mail for the November 3 General Election.
The statutory deadline to submit a mail-in ballot application is October 29, which is also the last day in which a ballot can be mailed out. England, along with other Election Authorities and state leaders, recommend voters apply much earlier so Clerk’s offices and the USPS have sufficient time to deliver the ballots. More people this Election than any other Election have chosen to Vote By Mail. England states that if you wish to Vote By Mail, don’t delay, do it now. Sullivan Schools have parent-teacher conferences coming up on Tuesday, October 27 and Thursday, October 29. This is an opportunity for parents to visit our schools and spend time learning about the happenings in their children’s classrooms. All IDPH guidelines regarding masks, social distancing, and cleaning will be followed. New for this year, parents will also have the option to attend parent teacher conferences remotely if they choose. This is the third year that we have hosted conferences on two evenings instead of an evening followed by a morning. The change was made after analyzing attendance during previous conference days. Moultrie County’s 740 businesses generated more than $891,000 in sales tax revenue for city and county governments during fiscal year 1995. According to the annual report from Illinois Dept of Revenue, the county’s businesses also paid $3.1 million in the state’s 5 percent sales tax. Sullivan (with 274 businesses) and Arthur with 228 businesses were the county’s most prosperous communities, generating municipal sales tax receipts for the year of $398,138 and $257,114 respectively ($90,069 of that from the portion of Arthur in Moultrie County).
