A diamond elephant pin, a Liberty Head gold piece, and a lot of vintage baseball cards are just some of the items that Illinois State Treasurer Dan Rutherford is offering in the next Illinois Treasurer’s Online Unclaimed Property Auction. Phelps Elected VP of Student Council District

Phelps
Attending the Eastern Illinois District Association of Student Councils 79th annual district convention at Eastern Illinois University Tuesday, Sullivan High School junior Beretta Phelps was elected as the district's vice-president.
Phelps, who also serves as Sullivan's vice-president, will serve in her role for the third largest district in the state.
The Eastern district, of which Sullivan is a member, is made up of 16 other schools including Windsor, Okaw Valley, Mattoon, Effingham, Shelbyville, Altamont, and Paris, among others.
Phelps will be officially sworn in at the December meeting, replacing outgoing Kristen Frohning of Newton.
October Rainfall Helps Soil Dryness
Precipitation was near normal for the month of October in Illinois, at a statewide average of 3.2 inches. The long-term average, or normal, for October is 3.26 inches of precipitation, according to Illinois State Climatologist Jim Angel at the Illinois State Water Survey, Prairie Research Institute, University of Illinois.
