Sandra Linn

Sandra L. Linn, 78, of Sullivan, died at 12:01 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2016 in her residence.

Family will receive friends at Elim Springs Church of Jesus Christ in rural Sullivan from 4-6 p.m. Thursday evening. Reed Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Linn was born September 29, 1938 in Granite City, the daughter of John James and Dorothy Grey McCain. Sandra was an LPN at Fields Wright Medical Center in Sullivan and a member of Pana American Legion Auxiliary and Pana VFW Auxiliary. She married Gerald L. Cohan, Sr. in 1955, and he preceded her in death in 1968. She later married Roy M. Linn in 1985, and he preceded her in death in 2008. Read More

James William Smith, 89, of Lovington passed away at 7:08 p.m. Thursday, December 8, 2016 in Sullivan Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15 in St. Isidore Catholic Church in Bethany. Effie Simonson

Evelyn “Effie” Warren Simonson, 91, formerly of Columbus, Indiana, passed away December 3, 2016, in Mason Point in Sullivan.  She was born March 2, 1925, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Forrest C. and Dolly M. Powell.  She was preceded in death by her husband Robert D. Warren of San Antonio, Texas and Chester A. Simonson of Columbus, Indiana. A daughter, Vicki Warren Washburn of Seabrook Island, South Carolina preceded her in death April 5, 2016.

Survivors include daughter Dianne Warren Smith of Virginia Beach, Virginia; son Steven Robert Warren of Murray, Kentucky; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild. Read More

John G. Marquis, Jr. 81, of Lovington passed away at 1:28 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Mason Point in Sullivan.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 1 in McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Lovington. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service in the funeral home in Lovington. Cecil R. Burgess, 95, of Sullivan passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family at 11:01 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016.

Celebration of Life services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Don Lusk and Pastor Fred Hauck officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today  (Wednesday).
