Charles ‘Arnold’ Briscoe, 84, of Sullivan, formerly of Findlay, died at 9:45 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2016 in Sullivan Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan. Burial was in Findlay Cemetery.

Mr. Briscoe was born May 18, 1931 in Moultrie County, Illinois, a son of Durward and Maurine Wheeler Briscoe. Arnold was a welder and enjoyed woodworking. He married Jean Evelyn Biedert June 9, 1951 in Sullivan, and she preceded him in death November 5, 1997. Read More

Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 18 in the Argenta United Methodist Church with Pastor Bob Baker officiating. Burial was in Friends Creek Cemetery in Argenta. Calvert Funeral Home in Clinton handled arrangements.

Celebration of Life services were held at 1 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Arthur with Pastor John Stewart officiating. Burial was in Keller Cemetery in Lovington. Reed Funeral Home in Sullivan was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. White was born March 2, 1949 in Casey, a daughter of Charles and Virginia Perisho Morris. Eileen was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Arthur. She married Harold White June 12, 1966 in Arthur, and he survives. Read More

On Tuesday, April 28th, under the direction of Dr. Ian Kinkley, Band Director, the Sullivan Band Program presented its symphonious Spring Band concert, titled “Evening Escapes,” which showcased the magnificent and diverse talents of the Sullivan 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands, combined with the Sullivan High School Band and Jazz Band.
