The Okaw Valley baseball team won four more games this past week to improve its record to 18-1 on the season and undefeated in the Little Okaw Valley Conference Northwest division.

OV defeated Argenta-Oreana, Morrisonville, Sullivan and Cerro Gordo.

The Timberwolves have won six games in a row after its only loss to Effingham two weeks ago, and OV has a busy schedule ahead of them.

“Big week this week; starting today we play four conference games,” said OV coach Andrew Hagerman Monday afternoon. “The next two weeks we play five games each week so we’ll really need to stay focused and work on improving in certain areas.”

As with most elite baseball teams, OV has had a different player step up when they need to help with games.

“Overall, it’s hard to pinpoint any one player in particular as each player is doing his job,” said Hagerman. “(We are) hitting well, we are pitching well right now and if one guy has a bad day, a couple of others are picking him up. It’s been a total team effort from day one.” Read More
