Sullivan Golf Team Knocks off Teutopolis Finish 26-0 for Season

The Sullivan boys’ golf team finished the regular season 26-0 by knocking off Teutopolis 158-196 Monday.
Logan Westjohn was Medalist with a score of 39, and Leyton Ellis also shot a 39.
Drew Rogers and Aiden Short each followed with a score of 40.
Camden Dwyer shot a 42, and Gary Herschberger carded a 46.
Thursday (26th), Sullivan defeated Tuscola, Tri-Valley, and St. Teresa with a score of 161 at Ironhorse.
Rogers scored a 37, and Westjohn followed with a 39.
Short shot a 41, and Ellis and Dwyer each carded a 44.
Gary Herschberger round out the team score with a 45. Read More

Sweet Taste of Victory for SHS Volleyball Team

It has been awhile.
But the Sullivan volleyball team tasted a conference victory for the first time in more than two years.
The Redskins defeated Warrensburg-Latham 12-25, 25-13, 25-17 last Tuesday.
Avery Still led the team with 11 kills and two blocks.
Zoe Walton hit five kills, and Raegen Sims hit six.

Arcola Wins at Eagle Creek Golf  Resort Saturday

Arcola placed first in the LPC Tournament Saturday that was held at Eagle Creek Golf Resort.
Arcola/ALAH came in with a score of 369 which was 39 strokes clear of 2nd place Okaw Valley.
Two Arcola/ALAH players tied for low round of the day with an 86. Senior Dallas Sisk beat his teammate Jacob Butler in a sudden death playoff to take first place honors. Read More

Sullivan Cross Country Teams Run in Classic

The Sullivan cross country teams competed in two meets this past week.
Saturday, the boys’ team placed 21st in the St. Joseph Ogden High School Spartan Classic.
The Redskins times and places included
Chase McClure’s 53rd (17:13.99), Peyton Pool’s 115th (18:41.59), Noah Bates’ 117th (18:46.64), Coen Foster’s 134th (19:29.61), JJ Standerfer’s 135th (19:30.78), Paul Bates’ 138th (19:32.76) and Dakota Freese’s 140th (19:38.89).

Knights Win Big in Homecoming Match

For the first time since 2014, the Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond football team won its homecoming game.
And the team did it convincingly.
The Knights scored in every quarter of the game to overwhelm Blue Ridge/DeLand-Weldon 51-0.
ALAH scored 14 points in the first quarter and tacked on 21 points in the second to take a 35-0 halftime lead. Read More

Lady Timberwolves Take Care of Arcola

After three weeks of match after match, the Okaw Valley volleyball team competed in only one match this week.
Last Tuesday, the Timberwolves took care of Arcola in straight sets, 25-10, 25-18, to win another Little Prairie Conference matchup.
Kate Jeffers led OV with four blocks to go with four kills, and Macie Fleshner tallied six kills, three digs and two blocks.
Grace Bunfill dished out 21 assists, two aces and had six digs, and April Decesaro had seven digs. Read More

OV Boys’ Golf Places at Lincoln Prairie

The Okaw Valley boys’ golf team placed second in the Lincoln Prairie Conference Golf Championship Saturday.

The Okaw Valley boys’ golf team placed second in the Lincoln Prairie Conference Golf Championship Saturday.
Senior Addison Webner shot an 88 for third place.
Monday night, OV lost to Meridian 187-192.
Addison Webner was medalist with a score of 43.
Other OV scored included Miles Harlin 44, Dalton Milligan 52, Trey Hall 53, Caleb Hildebrandt 54 and Seth Webner 59.
The OV boys’ golf team is scheduled to host regional action at 8 a.m. Monday at Eagle Creek.

SOV Football’s Two TDs Not Enough to Beat Meridian

The Sullivan-Okaw Valley football team dropped its fifth-straight game of the season to Meridian Friday night.
The Hawks scored first on a short run up the middle with 7:43 left first quarter to take an early 7-0 lead.
At the start of the second quarter, SOV began its first scoring drive from deep in its own territory.
A short pass advanced the Redskins to the 16-yard line, and a similar pass to the opposite side of field progressed Sullivan to the 40-yard line.

ALAH Volleyball Wins Two in Invitational

The Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond volleyball team competed in the Arcola Invitational, as well as two Little Prairie Conference matches this past week.
Saturday, ALAH finished the Arcola Invitational with a 2-2 record.
ALAH defeated Armstrong-Potomac and Arcola but lost to Urbana and Central A&M.
In the four games, Mackenzi Bowles finished with 23 kills, four aces and eight digs.
Addi Tinkle totaled seven aces, 12 kills, 13 digs and two assists, and Alisha Frederick compiled 51 assists, seven digs and two kills.
Cheyenne Chupp recorded 19 kills and 11 digs, and Kaylee Yeakel contributed 10 kills. Read More
