Track Starts Season Indoors with Meets at Mt. Zion and EIU

The indoor track is half the size of the outdoor track, but that doesn’t mean the competition is any less. The Sullivan Redskins got their track and field season underway with two indoor meets over the last few weeks.
The girls started first with their indoor meet in Mt. Zion on Saturday, February 24. The team went up against runners from 16 other teams, many of which compete in classes 2A and 3A (Sullivan competes in 1A for track). SHS Track Starts Season Strong

The SHS Boys Track Team started the season off with a strong showing at the EIU Indoor Invitational on Saturday. The boys finished in 13th place out of 59 teams, with much of the competition being Class 2A and 3A schools. Maroa-Forsyth Ends Lady Redskins’ Season with Regional Championship Loss

When the final buzzer of the regional championship blared inside Sullivan’s gymnasium, the final score showed 52 for the home team and 41 for the visitors.
