The Okaw Valley baseball team defeated Decatur Lutheran 8-4 this week to win the Little Okaw Valley Conference title for the fourth straight year in a row.

They earned a No. 1 seed in the Argenta-Oreana Class 1A Boys’ Baseball Regional as a result.

“Winning the LOVC is a great accomplishment for us this year,” said OV coach Andrew Hagerman. “At the top we knew Argenta and LSA would be very difficult wins, and they were. I was surprised at how good both Arthur and Arcola were this year. Those programs are definitely on the upswing, and beating them was not easy at all.”

Against LSA Friday, the Timberwolves scored a run in the second inning, two in the third inning and five in the fourth inning.

OV held on from there as LSA scored three in the fifth inning and one in the sixth but could get no closer.
