Lady Reds Face Tuscola in First Conference Match

The Lady Redskins hosted Tuscola Thursday, Sept 17 for the first conference volleyball match up.

Tuscola’s powerful front line proved too much for Sullivan, winning 12-25 and 15-25.

“Our defense did a great job of picking up the hits,” coach Krista Smith said noting they also made several good volleys.

“As a team we did better at covering tips and dumps tonight,” she continued. “We look forward to using this as an opportunity to strengthen our offense and build on positive teamwork.”

In the effort Alyssa Marshall had three kills and 14 digs for the Lady Redskins.

Monticello Wins over Sullivan Volleyball

Sullivan Redskins volleyball team traveled to Monticello Tuesday, Sept 15 with the home team taking wins in varsity and junior varsity action.

Varsity games were 14-25 and 15-25 Monticello. Junior varsity 9-25 and 21-25 Monticello.

Sullivan coach Krista Smith noted that Lizzie Green and Alyssa Marshall had some notable digs for the Redskin team. “The Redskins had the lead in the second game but could not maintain once Monticello sent some hard hits and quick change ups,” she commented. Read More

Arcola/ALAH Golf Places at Windsor Invite

Arcola/ Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond competed in the Windsor Invitational Saturday, Sept 19 at Fox Prairie Golf Course. They placed seventh out of 15 teams.

Clayton Miller led the Arcola team shooting a 77. The medalist was Christian Deters from T-Town shooting a 73. Read More

Sullivan Golf Team Wins at Home

Sullivan Country Club was host to Altamont and Arcola Arthur-Lovinton/Atwood-Hammond golfers Sept. 21 with Sullivan shooting 180 for the win.

Altamont followed with a 182, and Arcola finished at third with a 184. Arcola’s Clayton Miller was the medalist, shooting a 36 for AALAH which has a 10-3 season record.

Sullivan varsity men’s golf is 14-3 on the season. Caden Ellis led with a 43; Eric Keller -45; Joey Davison -47; Tommy Schibur-49; Adam White-45; and Kaleb Shumard-53. Read More

Tri-County Over Knights in Volleyball

Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond Knight volleyball team traveled to Tri-County for a meet Thursday, Sept 17 with Tri-County dominating.

The Knights record is 6-5 overall with Tri-County winning 19-25 and 16-25 over the varsity team.

Makayla Brown had two kills and two digs on the night, Hannah Leal supplied three kills and two digs; Kim Davis had three digs; Abby Foreman came up with five kills and three assists. Read More

Timberwolves Pick Up Couple of Wins

Okaw Valley volleyball had a couple good matches Sept 14 and 15 when they won over Heritage and Arthur Christian 2-1 in each set.

In the Heritage match Brianna Creviston had six digs; Charli Uhlrich provided three kills; Kailyn Boyer had three aces, one kill, one assist and four digs. Kristy Burford had four aces, two kills, and two digs; Madison Fox supplied an ace, two kills, a block and seven digs; Megan Dash had three aces, 17 kills, two blocks, one assist and four digs and Nicole Miller had two kills, one block and two digs. Arcola/Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond placed last in a close triangular match at Sullivan Country Club Sept 21.

Okaw Valley’s volleyball team traveled to Edinburg Sept. 21 losing the three game match 1-2.

Okaw Valley dropped the first game by four with a 12-25 score in Edinburg’s favor.

The second game Okaw Valley dominated 25-18 but lost the final 15-25. Okaw Valley has a 8-5-0 record.

On Tuesday, April 28th, under the direction of Dr. Ian Kinkley, Band Director, the Sullivan Band Program presented its symphonious Spring Band concert, titled “Evening Escapes,” which showcased the magnificent and diverse talents of the Sullivan 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands, combined with the Sullivan High School Band and Jazz Band.
