Each start off rusty, but Knights Clean Up

by Kirk Whitaker
Arthur/Sullivan Reporter

The recent adverse weather did not help local schools in many ways, particularly in extra-curricular activities. Okaw Valley had no school for the first three days of this past week, and Arthur’s first day of school was Wednesday.

Early on in Friday’s LOVC opener for the two squads, the rust was clearly getting shaken off.

“We didn’t have very good practices until yesterday,” Knights head coach Dale Schuring stated. “I think the layoff had a little to do with it. We were down a little bit, but I wasn’t too concerned because I knew the kids would respond.” Read More

by Kirk Whitaker
Arthur/Sullivan Reporter

It was business as usual for Arthur-Lovington against Windsor last Friday.

The Knights had three in double figures—junior Tyler Schuring lead the way with 14—and enjoyed their most balanced scoring night of the season having six scorers with at least five points.

“We have been pretty balanced for the majority of the year,” Knights head coach Dale Schuring stated. “Everybody scores every night, it’s just a different leading scorer each night. The top seven kids we get on the floor are all capable of scoring, but I would have to say tonight was the best balance of scoring we have had all season.”  Read More
