Brain Health Series Comes to Arthur in June

Wierman Scholarship Contest Open To Area Students

Writing a winning essay about a famed mural produced by artist Diego Rivera will earn an area student a $500 scholarship.

The Mideastern Illinois Labor Council is sponsoring a labor essay contest that is open to college-bound high school juniors and seniors and students who are currently attending a community college or university. To be eligible, entrants must be current or former union members or children or grandchildren of current or former union members and must reside in one of the counties covered by the labor council: Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Jasper, Moultrie and Shelby counties.
