Relief Sale in Arthur Aug. 23, 24

The 52nd Annual Arthur Mennonite Relief Sale will be held August 23 and 24 at the Otto Center, ½ mile south of Arthur.

The activities will begin at 4:30 p.m. Friday with a pulled pork BBQ dinner and the auction at 6 p.m. On Saturday a pancake and sausage breakfast runs from 6-10 a.m., with the auction beginning at 8 a.m. The silent auction is from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Free Civil War Program Sunday at Rock Springs

Donate to the America’s Farmers Food Drive to benefit local food pantries

Decatur–Nearly 15 percent of households in Illinois face food insecurity, which amounts to an estimated two million people, according to Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger relief organization. Families in these farming communities are often busy helping to feed the world but do not have access to enough food to sustain a healthy lifestyle for themselves. Thanks to the upcoming America’s Farmers Food Drive, rural households across the state of Illinois will soon see food on their own tables.
