Her primary location is at the FCB Lovington office. Wardrip brings 20 years of experience serving the communities of Lovington and Arthur in her prior roles as Branch Manager and Loan Officer at First National Bank of Arthur.

1st, 16th, 30th - Needle Night from 5-7 p.m. If you would like to learn to crochet, knit, needlepoint, or even how to sew we have people that can help teach you. If you already know how and just want to hang out come join us.  

3rd -  Story time from 10-10:30 a.m. We will be reading “The Reindeer Christmas” by Moe Price. We will also be singing some reindeer songs.

6th - Will be Teen Chess Time from 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Alan C. Horn was presented a plaque of appreciation from the local FFA officers for more than 25 years worth of support.

John Ruskin was recognized for his years of service as a 60 year member of the Sullivan Lions Club.

The ALAH Lady Knights put forth a strong performance to defeat the Shelbyville Lady Rams by 13 points, pushing their record to 3-1. Mycaela Miller led the team with 18 points while Kim Davis added 15.

Windsor Jr./Sr. High School recently announced their October Students of the Month Emma Hickman and Lily Ault.

Emma Hickman is the daughter of Andy and Annie Hickman. She is currently a freshman and is involved in FFA, Drumline, Pep Band, 4-H, and Bible Quizzing. She plans to become a landscaped designer after graduating for high school.

Temporary recreation area closings at Lake Shelbyville to conduct deer hunt for people with disabilities

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Wolf Creek State Park will hold the 34th Annual Lake Shelbyville Deer Hunt for People with Disabilities during the first firearm deer season on November 22-24. The hunt will be conducted in portions of recreation areas at Lake Shelbyville that are closed for the season. As a safety precaution, Lone Point and Lithia Springs Campgrounds and all of Sullivan Beach, Wilborn Creek, Coon Creek, and Opossum Creek Recreation Areas will be closed to all automobile and pedestrian traffic from 2 p.m. Thursday, November 21 to 7 p.m. Sunday, November 24.

Former Governor Jim Edgar to speak at EIU November 20

Former Illinois Governor and Eastern Illinois University alumnus James Edgar will headline “An Evening with Jim Edgar” at EIU 7 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, November 20, where Edgar will share reflections on his life and political insights from his time in government. Admission is free and members of the general public are invited and encouraged to attend. The event will take place in EIU’s University Ballroom, located in the Martin Luther King Jr. University Union, on campus at 1720 7th Street in Charleston, and is sponsored by EIU Student Government.

Windsor Jr High honor roll

The Windsor School District has started releasing 1st quarter grades and honor rolls, starting with the junior high students, grades 7th and 8th. Honor roll is achieved when a student has primarily earned an ‘A’ in every class or  have a 3.30 GPA or higher. These students who qualify are honored each quarter and celebrated within the schools for their hard work and dedication to education. Honor roll also has a prestigious level to honor roll label, high honor roll in which students must have a 3.7 GPA or higher to achieve.

Windsor Wonderland: A magical evening of holiday fun

The W.H.A.T. civic group invites everyone to celebrate the season at Windsor Wonderland, which is happening on Saturday, December 7, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. This much-anticipated holiday tradition is packed with festive activities and free fun for all ages. 

The evening begins with the Golf Cart and ATV Lighted Parade, a vibrant spectacle of illuminated vehicles spreading holiday cheer. Parade participants will line up at the Windsor High School parking lot at 4:30 p.m., with the parade kicking off at 4:45 p.m.. The procession will culminate at the Community Christmas Tree, where the tree lighting ceremony will officially launch the evening’s festivities at 5:00 p.m.
