Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Mcmullen-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Visitation will be held one hour before the services at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Masonic Rites will be given at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan. Jody Deanne Statzer, age 52, of Decatur, died peacefully Sunday Nov. 1, 2015.

A family-led visitation and memorial service celebrating Jody’s life will be Thursday, November 5 in Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 219 S. Lincoln St. in Bethany. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. with a service to follow. Pastor Bret Bone and Adam McReynolds will officiate. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is assisting the family.

Jody was born June 5, 1963 in Peoria, a daughter of Wayne and Sandra Barnes McReynolds. Jody graduated from MacArthur High School, Giodano School of Dance and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Bethany. Jody was very talented and a creative painting artist. She enjoyed playing with her sister, dancing and her pets. She found the love of her life at age 47, marrying Darrell Statzer Jr. on her birthday in 2010.   Read More

Jo Ellen Seaman, 66, of Arthur, died at 4:48 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 in Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in Arthur United Methodist Church with the Reverends Bruce Weiman and Leroy Allison officiating.  Private interment will be at a later date. Shrader Funeral Home, 431 S. Vine Street in Arthur is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jo Ellen was born February 17, 1949 to Ralph Richard “Bud” and Ellen Jane Hendrickson Seaman.  She was the oldest of five siblings.  Jo attended school in Arthur and furthered her college education at Illinois State, obtaining her Masters in Education.  She began her career in 1971 teaching agriculture in Goodridge, Minnesota, followed by Spring Grove, Minnesota.  She was the first female to teach agriculture in the state of Minnesota.  In 1980 she moved back to her hometown of Arthur and continued teaching.  She taught ag and math in both Arthur and Atwood. The Moultrie-Douglas County Fair Pageant will be held Monday, July 27th at 6:00 p.m. for Little Miss Fair Queen and 7:00 p.m. for Miss and Junior Miss Fair Queen located at the south track on the Mo-Do Fairgrounds. Vying for the title of Miss Moultrie Douglas Fair Queen are: Abigail Meyer of Tuscola, Addee Mulligan of Arcola, Sarah Rogers of Atwood, Ava Whitson of Tuscola, Addisyn Wilson of Villa Grove, Emma Spillman of Tuscola, Aymara Leal of Arcola and Katilyn Kirby of Sullivan.
