Carolyn J. England, 75, of Tower Hill, passed away 1:22 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2024, at her home.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, rural Bethany. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service, Tuesday, at the church in rural Bethany. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Bethany. Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Carolyn was born on August 12, 1948, in Decatur; the daughter of Fred and Norma Jean (Lofland) Davis. She married Cecil Dwayne England on October 1, 1966, in Sullivan; he preceded her in death on October 9, 2021. Her home church was Oak Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening, quilting and researching genealogy.
She is survived by her sons, Andrew England of Wyoming, Thad (Peggy Bonilla) England of Pana and Nathaniel (April) England of Tower Hill; brothers, Robert Davis, Roger (Kathleen) Davis, John Davis, Eddie (Diane) Davis, Chris (Clara) Davis, Brian (Tracy) Davis, Jeff (Penny) Davis and Kenny (Leta) Davis all of Sullivan; sisters, Cathy (John) Elkin and Becky (Mike) Davis both of Sullivan. Carolyn is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 55 years, Cecil Dwayne England.

Nancy Claire Henderson, 86, of Sullivan, IL went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024.

Nancy was born March 1, 1938, to George and Lucille Johnson of Windsor. Nancy lost her father in WWII at age 6. Lucille raised Nancy and her siblings, Jim and Joyce, and after they graduated college, she married Fred Hammer who loved the family as his own. Nancy graduated as valedictorian at Windsor High School and went on to attend the University of Illinois where she earned her teaching degree in Home Economics.
Nancy married Dane Cole Henderson on August 9, 1959 in a double wedding, alongside her sister, Joyce, who married John Henderson, Dane’s brother. Nancy and Dane had four children: Cindy (Mitch) Daily, Randy (Jody) Henderson, Sherrie (Eric) Grohler, Lyle (Carolyn) Henderson; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 3 more on the way. Nancy spent her life lovingly caring for and raising her family and she was her happiest when spending time with them. She worked for 15 years at RR Donnelly to help provide for the family. Nancy loved flower gardening, mowing her beautiful lawn, and camping. She enjoyed traveling with Dane in their RV throughout the southern states, spending most winters there.
She served all of her adult life as a member of Smyser Christian Church where she was a beautiful example of humble faith. Her faith has continued on through her children and grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by Dane, her loving husband of nearly 65 years. Rarely were the two apart from each other and they could always be seen holding hands.
While we celebrate Nancy’s life here with us, we rejoice in her eternal life with Christ.

Rochelle Ellen Boyd, 84, of Lovington, passed away 12:05 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024, at The Arthur Home.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Lovington. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the services Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lovington Volunteer Fire Department.
Rochelle was born June 19, 1939, in Decatur; the daughter of Charles R. and Rachel Nellie (Murphy) Taylor. She married Richard W. “Ike” Boyd on September 14, 1957, in Lovington. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2011. She taught Dental Assisting at Lakeland College for 25 years and was Co-Owner of Boyd’s Bus Service. Rochelle loved playing cards, dancing with her husband Ike, traveling and singing. She loved her grandchildren with all of her heart.
She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Diana) Boyd of Saint Martin, Caribbean, Julie Kinert of Lovington and Jamison (Brandi) Boyd of Tuscola; sisters, Karen (Gary) McCoy of The Villages, FL, Marsha Schwartz of Pass Christian, MS, and Kathy (Kent) Schwerin of Flanagan; grandchildren, Nick (Candice) Boyd, Lauren (Craig) Kinert, Wyatt (Amanda) Ciszkowski, Tim (Rhi) Wickens, Rick (Makenzie) Boyd, Josiah (Bailee) Kinert, Makenna Boyd, Maddy Boyd and Declan Boyd. Rochelle is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and 7 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, Dave Kinert and brother-in-law, John Schwartz.
