Goss Breaks School Record By Jason Brown NP Sports Editor Sullivan senior Brodie Goss picked the perfect time to swim his best races. Heading into the Sectional meet at Centennial High School Feb. 16, Goss knew he had a good chance of making his first trip to state. Two Receive All State Honors

New Principal for Sullivan Elementary School

•February 27 2019• Sullivan School Board held a special meeting at 7 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22 hiring Heather Ethell to fill the Sullivan Elementary School principal position. The SES elementary principal position opened when Dan Allen became the Sullivan High School principal. Ethell most recently served as an assistant principal and principal of a K-8 building, Hope Academy in Decatur. She received her certification in elementary education as well as middle school reading and science. Apart from her teaching experience she has served as a reading coach and instructional coach. … Read More

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

•February 27 2019• The 5th Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at Sullivan First United Methodist Church will be held in Friendship Hall 4:30-6 p.m. March 5. This event marks the end of Mardi Gras and the anticipation of Lent, which begins the next day on Ash Wednesday. Everyone is invited to the celebration, which will include pancakes, sausage and drinks. Since it’s a party, all who come will eat free of charge. Voting early in person at the clerk’s office or requesting a ballot to be mailed is being utilized more with each election. BASO Car Show a success

The Bethany Advocates and Support Organization hosted its annual car show on August 22 at Crowder Park. The perfect afternoon weather bought out 52 entries and many enthusiastic onlookers. Greg Fitzgerald’s 1966 Pontiac GTO took home Best off Show honors.
