Denny Hutchings Denny Hutchings, 73, of Sullivan, passed away 6:38 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in his residence. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Sullivan Faith Lutheran Church with Pastors Paul McGhghy and Glenn Strohschein officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Reed Funeral Home, Sullivan. The Redskins lost to St. Elmo/Brownstown Saturday, St. Teresa Friday and Central A&M last Tuesday. In the CIC/NTC Shootout against St. Elmo/Brownstown, the game was back-and-forth until the last quarter when St. Elmo/Brownstown fought off a late Sullivan run for the 59-57 win. Lovington Board Approves Sparrows Celebration

•February 13, 2019• In a special Lovington Village Board meeting Jan. 28, trustees approved an ordinance to borrow funds from the Public Water Supply Loan program. In connection village board members approved increasing the minimum water rate to $16.87 as a base with a one percent annual increase taking effect January 2020. Trustee Dennis Garmon pointed out the base water rate would be $20.79 in 20 years under the new rate increase. 4th Annual Daddy Daughter Dance to Benefit The Little Theatre

•February 13, 2019• Once again, the Little Theatre On The Square will hold a Daddy Daughter Dance fundraiser 6-8 p.m. Saturday, February 16. This fourth annual event is expected to be bigger and better than ever. Early Voting Begins Feb. 21

•February 13, 2019• First day to Early Vote is February 21 and the last day to register is April 2., Moultriel County Clerk Georgia England announced. Citizens who are not registered to vote and cannot leave their home or nursing home/assisted living facility because of a permanent physical disability may arrange for voter registration and voting by contacting the Moultrie County Clerk’s office. BASO Car Show a success

The Bethany Advocates and Support Organization hosted its annual car show on August 22 at Crowder Park. The perfect afternoon weather bought out 52 entries and many enthusiastic onlookers. Greg Fitzgerald’s 1966 Pontiac GTO took home Best off Show honors.
