•June 27, 2018• A benefit for Troy Anderson is being held to raise funds for medical bills he has incurred due to a quintuple bypass in March and the development of further complications since then. The benefit will be held at the Sullivan VFW July 14 with a meal at 6 p.m. and the band “The Kick” playing at 8 p.m. The gun raffle drawing winner will be drawn that evening along with a 50/50. •June 27, 2018• The village of Arthur, is having fireworks Saturday, June 30. The Freedom Celebration salutes Illinois’ bicentennial with a rare chance to view Abraham Lincoln’s funeral hearse and the largest fireworks display in central Illinois. The hearse will be available for viewing at the corner of South Vine and West Progress Streets in downtown Arthur from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 30 and will be driven in the Arthur 2018 Illinois Legacy Parade “Happy 200th Birthday Illinois” starting at 2 p.m. that day.
