•November 15, 2017• Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White is encouraging families in Illinois to read together Thursday, Nov. 16, for Illinois’ annual Family Reading Night. Sullivan Elementary School is participating with “Books are Better than the Movie” theme. The Illinois Library Association’s iREAD theme is “Reading by Design” with Little Elliot continuing to serve as the theme. OV’s Robinson Signs with Drury University

•November 15, 2017• By Jason Brown NP Sports Earlier this year, Okaw Valley senior Paige Robinson verbally committed to play basketball at Division II Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Robinson made it official when she signed her national letter of intent at Okaw Valley High School in Bethany Friday. Robinson will play for coach Molly Miller who enters her fourth season as Drury University’s head women’s basketball coach. Robinson will be entering a successful basketball program. Juanita Elzy Juanita A. Elzy, 92, of Sullivan passed away at 9:05 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2017 in Sullivan Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, November 15) at McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan. Juanita was born October 30, 1925 in Findlay, the daughter of Herman I. and Julia Welch Spencer. She married Francis T. Elzy January 25, 1946 in Franklin, Tennessee, and he preceded her in death March 18, 1993. Juanita was a retired secretary for Progress Industries in Arthur.  … Read More
