Big college programs are building Taj mahal-like locker rooms for their pampered, but unpaid, players. Katy, TX (pop. 14,000) just opened a $72 million high school stadium! •September 20, 2017• Sullivan girls’ golf competed three meets this past week. The Redskins defeated St. Teresa and hosted Mt. Zion at Southside Country Club Thursday. Addison Darush was meet medalist. The three counting scores were Alexis Britton, Irie Dulin, and Esther Miller. Sixteen years later a generation of students who weren’t as yet born at that time wrestle with understanding what 9/11/2011 was all about. •September 20, 2017• The Okaw Valley golf team defeated Villa Grove Thursday, lost to Sullivan and tied for third in the Windsor Golf Invitational at at Fox Prairie Saturday. Saturday in Windsor, OV tied Sullivan for third place out of 15 teams with a score of 330. Hillsboro shot a 309, and St. Anthony finished with 325. •September 20, 2017• The Sullivan volleyball team dropped two Central Illinois Conference matches this past week. The Redskins lost to Tuscola Thursday and Monticello last Tuesday. Against Tuscola, the Warriors defeated Sullivan in straight sets, 25-9 and 25-13. “The Lady Redskins worked on their hitter coverage, picking up several blocked balls,” said coach Jennifer Young. “They also disciplined themselves in the second set to vary their service receive.” … Read More

•September 20, 2017• The Sullivan and Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond cross country teams competed in the 40th Annual Tuscola Classic at Tuscola High School Saturday. The Redskins placed 13th with a score of 284, while the girls’ team did not have a team score. For the Sullivan girls’ team, Katherine Kite led the team with a time of 21:52.2 for 29th place. •September 20, 2017• The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond volleyball team stayed undefeated at 8-0 on the season with a three-set win against Tri-County last Thursday. ALAH won the first set 25-18 but lost the second set 21-25. The Knights came back to win the third set 25-20. Taylor Powell recorded seven aces, 10 kills and eight digs. Sullivan Golfers Tie OV at Windsor Invitational

•September 20, 2017• The Sullivan boys’ golf team defeated Okaw Valley at home last Tuesday and then tied the Timberwolves for third place out of 15 teams in the Windsor Golf Invitational at Fox Prairie Saturday. Monday evening, the team also won a quadrangular at Altamont to extend its winning streak to 15-0. Last Tuesday, the Redskins beat OV 167-176.
