Nettles Places for ALAH Track at State
•May 24, 2017• Despite a rain delay, Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond freshman Kenli Nettles placed in the top six in two events at the IHSA Class 1A State Track and Field Meet at O’Brien Stadium on the campus of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. Nettles high jumped 5 feet 5 inches for third place and ran the 100-meter high hurdles in 15.44 for sixth place. Nettles broke her own school record of 15.58, which she ran in the prelims. •May 24, 2017• Memorial Day observations begin at the Moultrie County Courthouse at 7:45 a.m. Monday, May 29. From there the Sullivan American Legion Post 68 Honor Guard will lead the Memorial Day Parade to Greenhill Cemetery where a formal service will be conducted at 8 a.m. The Honor Guard will then attend services at the Wyman Park Memorial followed by breakfast at the American Legion hall. •May 24, 2017• The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Shelbyville is announcing that registration is underway for the 2017 Wild about Nature Series at the Lake Shelbyville Visitor Center. Sessions take place Thursday mornings in June and July. Any child between the ages of one and 12 is welcome to attend.
