ALAH Boys’ Track Competes in Tuscola Open

•April 26, 2017• The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond boys’ track and field team competed in the Tuscola Open Invitational Friday and the Tri-County Invitational last Tuesday. During the Tuscola Invite, two athletes and two relay teams finished in the top five spots. Austin Romine won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:59.26. Kobe Wells took fourth and fifth place in the high jump and 200-meter dash, respectively, with a jump of 5 feet 10 inches and a time of 24.45. Okaw Valley Softball Wins Four for the Week

•April 26, 2017• The Okaw Valley softball team finished the week 4-1. OV split a double header Saturday, shut out Mt. Pulaski Friday and Ramsey Thursday and knocked off Shiloh Wednesday. OV defeated Tri-County/Shiloh 11-1 at Crowder Park. Tri-County jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first with a long home run which was the only run of the day for Tri-County. •April 26, 2017• The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond girls’ track competed in two meets this past week. ALAH participated in the Tri-County Invitational in Sullivan last Tuesday and the T Tuscola Open Invitational Friday. At the Tuscola Open, ALAH several athletes in the top five spots. Kenli Nettles took first places in 110-meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles and the long jump. She ran the 100 hurdles in 16.98, the 300 hurdles in 50.77 and jumped 5 feet 7 inches. Lake Shelbyville Fish Habitat Improvements Proposed

•April 26, 2017• A public meeting was held April 25 in the Lake Shelbyville Visitors Center auditorium to discuss a proposed fish habitat project through the Friends of Reservoirs. The US Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Shelbyville, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Chip’s Marine, and the Lake Volunteer Association are soliciting the help of anglers and angling groups dedicated to protecting and restoring fisheries habitat at Lake Shelbyville.
