New Employees Return Raises Helping Veteran Staff

•November 16, 2016• By Mike Brothers Courthouse office staff returned raises in an effort to get the Moultrie County Board to give salary increases to all staff at the Thursday, Nov. 10 meeting. And it worked. During a personnel session earlier, an effort was proposed to equalize county employee salaries after increasing the starting rate to $19,000 per year for full time staff. This improved salaries by $2500 for county employees hired after Dec. 2014 but neglected veteran staff, many serving the courthouse from 10-30 years. USDA Invests in Small Rural Illinois Businesses

•November 16, 2016• USDA recently announced an investment of $490,000 in Illinois, and more than $300 million nationwide, to help rural small businesses save money on their energy costs by adopting renewable sources or implementing more efficient energy options. The funding is through the USDA Rural Development Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). Grant funding for the eight projects in Illinois ranged from $30,700 to $135,000, and includes the purchase and installation of solar renewable energy systems; energy efficiency improvements to insulation, and geothermal and lighting systems; purchase and installation of a fermenter for ethanol production; and energy efficiency improvements … Read More

•November 16, 2016• Sarah Bush Lincoln’s Mobile Mammography Services will be at the SBL Sullivan Clinic December 21. The Mobile Mammography van helps provide mammograms to women who may not otherwise have access to, or be able to afford these life-saving preventive screens. Women who qualify will receive their mammogram free. The mobile mammography van is available to all women regardless of their financial status. Women with insurance that covers their yearly mammogram are also welcome.
