•November 16, 2016• The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Illinois Department of Natural Resources will hold the 27th Annual Lake Shelbyville Deer Hunt for People with Disabilities during the first firearm deer season November 18 – 20. The hunt will be conducted in portions of recreation areas at Lake Shelbyville that are closed for the season. ALAH Schools Pass Tentative Tax Levy

Ken Schwengel explained that this estimate is based on an inflated EAV. “It is an increase in what the total levy would generate (minus bonds) based on our established tax rates and the inflated EAV. It is not an indication of how much a person’s property taxes are going to increase,” he said. SOV Girls’ Swim Team Advances to State

•November 16, 2016• Sullivan-Okaw Valley High School girls’ swim team placed at the IHSA Sectional Meet Saturday Nov. 12. All six girls had a great meet and helped in bringing home an overall third place finish out of 26 teams. There is no class level for competition in swimming so they are competing against schools of all sizes. The team maintained the title of sectional champs in the 200 Freestyle Relay and then added sectional champs in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
