New Aerial View of Moultrie County

•October 19, 2016• An enhanced view of Moultrie County is on its way. Members of the Moultrie County Board Public Health and Safety Committee voted to recommend upgrading the county’s aerial photo file. Geographical Information Systems (GIS) committee chair Kevin McReynolds noted that four companies responded to the county’s request for upgrading aerial photos used for property tax assessment and the enhanced Coles-Moultrie  911 communication system. McReynolds explained the improved oblique photo imagery gives a 3-D photo of properties which helps with enhanced 911 address location, as well as improving the tax assessors aerial photo quality. … Read More

Over salads and fried chicken, cobbler, and ice-cream, they chatted about local happenings and discussed their plans for the next week. State Board Tests Moultrie

•October 19, 2016• Moultrie County’s new Unisyn election equipment was given an A+ during testing by the Illinois Board of Elections, October 13. Three representatives of the Board of Elections chose Moultrie County for a random check and pretest of the election voting and tabulation system. “We pretest all the equipment  for function, touch screen accuracy and calibration,” B of E evaluator Bruce Brown, said of the testing process. Windsor Student Named Tournament MVP

•October 19, 2016• Karlie Bean, seventh grader at Windsor Jr. High School, participated in the first Jr. High All-Star Showcase in Jacksonville October 8-9. Bean was joined by Grace Bunfill of Okaw Valley and more than 100 additional girls in Illinois to participate in the event. Players from Mattoon, Charleston, and Martinsville joined Bean and Bunfill to form the East Central team. The 11 member team was coached by Blain Mayhill of Charleston.
