Lincolnland Hospice Gears Memorial Service for Kids

•June 8, 2016• Lincolnland Hospice is hosting its 17th annual Memory Day, a program geared toward children who have experienced the death of a loved one. Memory Day is set for 10 a.m., Saturday, June 18, outside Entrance A of Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Participants should meet in the lobby of Entrance A. Memory Day will give children a way to pay tribute to special people or pets who have died. Children will plant flowers in a garden near the Main Entrance of the Health Center and the group will release a dove. Light refreshments will be served. … Read More

Annual Amish Country Tractor Cruise Offers Rides

A 40 mile cruise will take riders on a picturesque cruise through the Heart of Illinois Amish Country that will feature the communities of Arthur and Cooks Mills. Taking Small Town Life for Granted We sometimes take so much for granted when we live in a small town. I was awakened to this fact twice in the past week. A couple of our kids from New York were visiting for a week. Our son-in-law walks with the assistance of two canes. When we went grocery shopping, he placed his canes under the basket on the shopping cart. •June 8, 2016• Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs today visited the Carver Community Center to highlight the nearly $19,000 the center received through the unclaimed property division. Frerichs occasionally visits unclaimed property recipients to show the public that the program is legitimate and is not a scam.
