•March 19, 2025• Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs is encouraging young Illinois photographers to submit photos for the 2025 “Cream of the Crop Photo Contest”, which provides students with a creative opportunity to share their vision of agriculture in our state. Free breakfast draws crowd, elicits smiles

Williamee The free Shrove Tuesday Breakfast at Sullivan’s First United Methodist Church drew a good crowd despite the uncooperative weather. This was their first pancake breakfast since the pandemic. Williamee The Prairieland Frontiersman held their annual “Historic Arms and Craft Show” Saturday, March 7 and 8 in Sullivan at American Legion Post 68. Sullivan School Board discusses budget, updates building status

Williamee The Sullivan CUSD #300 school board held its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, March 10th, beginning with updates from the National English Honor Society (NEHS) and the National Honor Society (NHS). NEHS has a few more weeks remaining with their pen pal letters at the elementary schools. They will finish this project with an in-person event to meet their pen pals. Also discussed was re-opening the donation box on the square, and adding food items again as the weather improves. On Route 133 between Lovington and Arthur, power poles fell as a result of the storm systems that hit central Illinois in two waves on Wednesday, June 17th. These storms left many without power and caused widespread damage throughout the area, including confirmed tornado touchdowns in nearby counties.
