Singers named Grand Champions

Photo provided This past weekend, the Singers Jr and Singers performed at the El Paso Gridley Show Choir Showdown. Singers Jr brought home 3rd runner up and Singers were named Grand Champions of their division along with best vocals and best choreography. This week, the Sullivan Show Choirs and Singers Mini will be performing at their Spaghetti Supper. Swimmers compete at sectional

Sullivan Co Op boys swim team went to the IHSA boys sectional meet this past weekend. Grant Martin, Jaden Miller, Henry Wooler, Nathan Rafferty placed 6th in the 200 Medley Relay and 5th in the 200 Freestyle Relay. In individual swims, Martin placed 6th in the 100 butterfly and 8th in the 100 breaststroke. Rafferty placed 8th in the 100 freestyle and 4th in the 500 freestyle. Miller placed 8th in the 100 backstroke and 10th in the 500 freestyle. Woolery placed 14th in the 50 freestyle and 15th in the 100 breaststroke. On Route 133 between Lovington and Arthur, power poles fell as a result of the storm systems that hit central Illinois in two waves on Wednesday, June 17th. These storms left many without power and caused widespread damage throughout the area, including confirmed tornado touchdowns in nearby counties.
