Juvenile Falls from Third Floor of Courthouse Monday Afternoon

Boy then transported by helicopter from Arthur March 25, 2015 by Keith Stewart keith@newsprogress.com A boy was being treated for injuries he received after he apparently jumped from the third floor of the Moultrie County Courthouse onto the first-floor rotunda a week ago Monday. The boy, shackled and clad in an orange jumpsuit, had just left a courtroom about 3:15 p.m. Monday when he went over the railing. Because the incident involves a juvenile, authorities are not releasing his name. Counterfeit $100 Bill Found in Sullivan

March 19, 2015 by Keith Stewart keith@newsprogress.com Sullivan police chief John Love is asking businesses and the public alike to be on the watch for counterfeit money in Sullivan. Love says that a local business recently received a $100 counterfeit bill, which was confirmed by a Sullivan bank. The police chief says that should anyone be suspicious of receiving possible counterfeit monies, to take the bills to any local bank where staff can then inspect it for fraudulence. Central Illinois Restaurants Raise Thousands for Local Ronald McDonald House

March 18, 2015 Continuing its commitment to the community, central Illinois and Peoria/Bloomington McDonald’s® Restaurants helped raise thousands during the annual “Give a Little Love” campaign to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois (RMHCCI). This year, over $211,178.51 was raised for the charity from January 22 to February 15. More than 100 central Illinois and Peoria/Bloomington McDonald’s restaurants participated in the campaign. Head Start 0-5 Program is a federally-funded program that provides comprehensive classroom and home-based educational services to pregnant women and children ages 0-5 including those with significant or multiple special needs. The C.E.F.S. Head Start 0-5 Program is located at 203 S Graham Street in Sullivan. Preschool center-based classes are provided in either the morning or afternoon Monday through Thursday. Each session lasts 3½ hours and includes healthy meals and snacks.
