Lovington Revitalization Meeting March 26

March 18, 2015 A Lovington Revitalization meeting with Mike Crews of Illinois Coalition Community Service is set for March 26 at 6:30 p.m.at the Lovington Public Library. The public is invited. Discussions will center on a summer lunch program for the youth. Tony Schuering the V.P. of of Municipal Consulting Group will also be present to give information on TIF (Tax Increment Financing). Other topics of interest may be discussed. The effort is looking for fresh, innovating ideas, or events that have been done in the past that may be rejuvenated. Through the 502 Direct Single Family Housing Loan program, USDA Rural Development helps low income individuals and families purchase a home with 100 percent financing. State Behind on Transportation and Special Education Payments

ALAH district still in the black, for now March 18, 2015 by Ariana Cherry Arthur/Sullivan Reporter Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond superintendent Kenny Schwengel informed the board at its regular meeting last Wednesday that the state was behind on several payments to the transportation and special education funds. The transportation fund has been prorated at 71 percent and on top of that has received just one payment of $126,000. The amount includes one regular payment and a special education payment for Arthur-Lovington and Atwood-Hammond. Until his first article I wasn’t aware of the “ins and outs” of railroading. However, I did find the information quite interesting.
