Sullivan High School Earns First in WYSE Competition at Lake Land College

February 25, 2015 Now advance to EIU March 12 The regional WYSE Academic Challenge was recently held at Lake Land College and 25 schools, registering 385 students, came together to battle in biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering graphics, English, mathematics and physics. Neoga, Sullivan and Charleston high schools were victorious in their divisions and took home the regional championship titles. Moultrie Farmer Directs Funds to Christ’s Pantry

February 25, 2015 Christ’s Pantry recently received a $2,500 donation from Moultrie County farmer Kathy Ruff and America’s Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund. The donation will help the organization purchase a new freezer, ground beef and groceries. “The pantry recently lost use of a freezer full of meat,” said Pastor Al Rennert. “With this money, we hope to purchase a new, more reliable freezer and to also buy ground beef and other food items that are given out on a weekly basis.” In addition to the new freezer, the donation will help cover about six months of … Read More

No Zoo In Moultrie County Currently there are 11 zoo/wildlife parks in Illinois, not including major zoos in St. Louis and Indianapolis. Three are within easy driving distance from Moultrie County, including Henson Robinson Zoo in Springfield, Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington and Scoville Zoo in Decatur.
