LIHEAP Energy Assistance Still Available

February 11, 2015 The C.E.F.S Economic Opportunity Corporation’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) still has energy assistance funding available for winter utility assistance. Any household that has applied as of September 1, 2014 or after would not be eligible to apply again. LIHEAP provides one-time grants to help income eligible households pay for their winter utility expenses. C.E.F.S. began taking LIHEAP applications last September for the current program year 2015. To date in Moultrie county energy benefits totaling $122,165.00 have been approved for 245 households. The average payment per household was $499. New Local Jazzercise Instructor Offering Classes

February 11, 2015 Alexandria Tucker, a newly certified Jazzercise instructor, has begun offering classes in Lovington, Sullivan and Mt. Zion with all three facilities offering approximately 30 classes per week.Tucker is excited to join Jazzercise and work with the team of 10 instructors for all three facilities including her mother Tracy Garmon who has been an instructor for six years.
