December 3, 2014 Despite a third quarter surge, the Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond girls’ basketball team fell to Oakwood at home Monday night. The Lady Knights, trailing 24-14 after the first half, doubled up Oakwood in the third, outscoring them 13-6 to pull within three. But both teams sat at a scoring stalemate in the final period with nine points each, allowing Oakwood to hold on for a 39-36 win. Sullivan Police Chief Warns of Scams

November 26, 2014 Some area residents have recently received phone calls that were later realized to be scams. According to Sullivan police chief John Love, his department received three complaints Tuesday about alleged scams that area residents had received over the phone. Of the three phone scams, two dealt with a caller alleging to be a relative that was in trouble and in need of money. The other scam involved a caller alleging to be an IRS investigator. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Bethany. She died at 11:55 p.m. November 20, 2014 in OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Boo was born July 11, 2000 in Centralia, a daughter of Troy Allen Yokley and Carla Fay Crain Yokley. She was a member of Brown Christian Church Meacham Township.
