ALAH Schools Present 7.98 Percent Levy Increase

November 26, 2014 Truth in taxation meeting to be held next month by Ariana Cherry Arthur/Sullivan Reporter A proposed tentative tax levy increase was presented to the Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond school board Wednesday, November 12. With this year’s EAV estimated at $193, 490,228 and last year’s total $183,286,949, an increase of 7.98 percent was figured. A total of $6,517, 231,000 in taxes was received from both districts in 2013. Presently, the proposed amount to receive is $6,905,829. November 26, 2014 The Eastern Illinois Foodbank will distribute a truckload of food to hungry area families at the Sullivan VFW Post 6410 located at 1146 State Hwy 32 in Sullivan 10 a.m.-noon December 6. Live Nativity in Sullivan Dec. 5-7

November 26, 2014 The seventh annual Christ’s Living Nativity will be held at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5 and 6 and 6:30 p.m. Sunday December 7.  This free outdoor event may be watched from the comfort of a vehicle and lasts approximately 20 minutes.
