36th Annual Walleye Festival

•July 10, 2024• Findlay is hosting the 36th Annual Walleye festival on July 26th and 27th starting on Friday at 5pm with non-stop events until midnight, where the beer tent will then close for the night. Saturday is the main event, hosting most of the family friendly fun. There will be a total of six live bands, a car show, beer tent, bags tourney, tractor pull, police meet and greet, local celebrity dunk tank, inflatables, face painting and much much more. •July 3, 2024• by Ariana R Cherry  On June 29th, Arthur’s Freedom Celebration began on a gloomy note with some intermittent showers. Despite the rain and gloomy forecast, out of town visitors streamed into the charming town, eager to witness the evening’s spectacular show.  However, a light storm moved in bringing heavier rain, and casting a momentary shadow over the upcoming festivities. But with some answered prayers, the rain subsided by about 1:30 pm, making way for sunshine and humidity to settle in. On Route 133 between Lovington and Arthur, power poles fell as a result of the storm systems that hit central Illinois in two waves on Wednesday, June 17th. These storms left many without power and caused widespread damage throughout the area, including confirmed tornado touchdowns in nearby counties.
