Summer lunch program

•May 15, 2024• Windsor CUSD1 has announced their 10th year of serving up free summer lunch and fun at Windsor Elementary School in Windsor. This year’s program starts on Tuesday, May 28th and runs through Friday, August 2nd. Serving time: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Friday. WES offers an assortment of veggies, fruit, dairy and grains, along with the main items listed on the menu daily. Every meal includes a choice of milk or milk alternatives. Carolyn J. England Carolyn J. England, 75, of Tower Hill, passed away 1:22 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2024, at her home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, rural Bethany. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service, Tuesday, at the church in rural Bethany. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Bethany. Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church. Carolyn was born on August 12, 1948, in Decatur; the daughter of Fred and Norma Jean (Lofland) Davis. On Route 133 between Lovington and Arthur, power poles fell as a result of the storm systems that hit central Illinois in two waves on Wednesday, June 17th. These storms left many without power and caused widespread damage throughout the area, including confirmed tornado touchdowns in nearby counties.
