•September 13, 2023• The famous story of the January 1945 liberation of Bataan Death March survivors held in the Notorious Cabanatuan POW camp in the Philippines will be told at the Sept. 21 meeting of the Moultrie County Historical Society. Dalace Scroggins, a Moultrie County man, was among the 100 Army Rangers and Scouts involved in the liberation. Scott England Under the guidance of new head coach, Isaiah Plank, the Sullivan-Okaw Valley Cross Country team finally had the opportunity to get some meets in after the opening meet of the season was canceled during the heatwave in late August. The new opening meet was the Cow Chip Classic held in Chrisman held on September 2. As if the name wasn’t unique enough, this meet featured a one-of-its-kind formatting where runners left in flights in 20-25 minute intervals.
