High School Students Meet for Leadership Training

•October 11, 2023• The Illinois Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) recently provided approximately 200 high school students and their Family & Consumer Sciences teachers a training on how to be positive, effective leaders in their homes, schools, and communities. The training which is called the Ignite Conference was held on Sunday, October 1, and Monday, October 2, 2023, at the Northfield Inn/ Conference Center, Springfield, IL. The main topics that were emphasized were leadership skills, professionalism, and community service. Sullivan Junior High Cross Country Team Advancing to State

•October 11, 2023• Shelbyville/Moulton Middle School hosted the IESA 2A Cross Country Section at Forest Park on Saturday, October 7. Sullivan Middle School’s girl cross country came in second place and the boys team tied for third. Bushue, Ellis Medal at IHSA 1A State Golf Tournament

Scott England Brett Bushue and Shae Ellis each earned a spot in the two-day state golf tournament held at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur for the girls and Prairie Vista Golf Course in Bloomington for the boys. The two day format includes a cut score that golfers must be under in order to advance to the second day. Bushue shot an 86 on Friday, which was under the cut score by two strokes. Redskins Volleyball Pick Up One Win in Conference Tournament

They opened up the tournament on Monday with back-to-back matches against Cumberland and Unity Christian. They concluded their tournament play on Wednesday against Tri-County and Blue Ridge. Sullivan came out with strong serving in the first match against Cumberland. The team had a total of eight aces with Aeralyn Thrasher and Paige Conner leading with two apiece. Both teams played neck and neck with the Redskins of Sullivan/Okaw Valley being triumphant in the end on a final touchdown with a minute and a half left in the game.
