Lena Griffin Lena M. “Lee” Griffin, 100, formerly of St. Anne, Ill. passed away Monday, August 15, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Bement, Ill., the daughter of Charles and Tressie Rodgers Cornelius. She married Joseph V. Griffin August 1, 1942, at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Bethany. She and Joseph were married for 78 years before his death in 2020. … Read More

Mary Dolan Mary Margaret Dolan, 96, of Sullivan, went to be with the Lord, at 5 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 1, at New Life Church in Sullivan. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery in Sullivan, at a later date. •October 5, 2022• Barry Morgan Sullivan News Group Tuesday, September 27th, I had the privilege of accompanying my father, Don from Lovington, on the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight out to see the Memorials in Washington, D.C. When we arrived at the airport in Springfield, I started running into people that I know. Illinois Deer Donation Program Launched

At this time and through deer hunting season, hunters can bring harvested deer to one of five partnering meat processors for donation. SCED Awarded RISE Grant by State of Illinois

Sullivan celebrates America’s 250th

The annual Fourth of July parade kicked off a fun filled day of celebration hosted by the Sullivan American Legion Saturday.  Wyman Park was the next destination for the always entertaining watermelon eating contest, turtle races and sack races. At dusk, an amazing fireworks display capped off the festivities. More photos can be found on page 12.
